Last weekend we went for the Standon Calling festival and it was very interesting! Had a shakey start but the finish was great fun all round!
Officially the festival was on from Friday the 29th till Sunday the 31st of July but we could only go on Saturday, what with work and other family comittements.
As I mentioned here, this was my first family festival so I was really curious to attend it and see what it was like and I wasn’t disappointment!
I remember last year when I was so excited about Aj starting pre-school and wearing a uniform and then getting back into work from maternity and the school runs! All the things that could happen in a year…
Now, we’re doing it all again, getting Aj ready for new school again in a new town and once again there’s a lot to think about, to plan and prepare for…
Looks like we’ll be going our first family festival in July! How exciting!
Earlier in the week I got asked if I’ll be interested in attending the Standon Calling Family Festival 2016 and I was like where do I sign up! These are all part of the things I used to miss living in the north I tell you – networking and family events.
I still can’t believe we moved down south! I talked so much about my doubts and uncertainity so it’s funny how I did a quick turn around. Sometimes life just presents you with an opportunity and you either grab it and run with it or dig your heels in and stand your ground…
All things considered, moving down south has been better than I expected. We decided to simplify a number of things which helped, however, come September it’s going to be interesting time again and I just pray it sorts itself out before we get there!
The last two month have been a whirlwind! I don’t even know where to start…
Well, I do actually, it all started with this post where I had a bit of a rant about long distance relationships! Well hubby read it and he wasn’t pleased at all! And that’s how it all began!
Next thing I knew, I found myself (and my family) in Hertfordshire!
Yes! We’ve moved down south!
Last week was the dreaded week which finally came and went…
Aj finally went to the dentist to get her teeth done after discovering she had two cavities in her teeth. It went better than I expected, my daughter was strong, bless her, but it still hurt a bit…
My little man turned 13 months last week! Wow!
Since he started walking it’s like there’s no stopping him! He is into everything and already knows how to throw a tantrum! My goodness, when he doesn’t get what he wants! I don’t know where I got kids which such a temper from! It isn’t me, honest!!
So hubby got a new job – Yipppeeeee!
The not so great news is the job is in London. We live in North Wales. That is over 200 miles or 3 hours drive one way. No joke.
I know some might ask why I don’t look for a job down south and move, the idea has crossed my mind but I’m not so sure…
My name is Tola and I’m guilty of buying sugary cereal for my daughter. I have seen the light and I promise to do better, starting from today…
Why am I going on about sugary cereal? Because Aj recently went to the dentist and it was an an eye opening experience and not in a good way…
I was so looking forward to switching to cow’s milk when Junior turned 1! I won’t have to worry about buying formulae and we’d just carry on using the family milk – we would have to switch to full fat whole milk of course, because of him, but I wasn’t complaining about that!
Now, all my dreams have been shattered…
